Eileen entered the BVM congregation on August 27, 1995, from St. Elizabeth Parish in St. Louis. She professed her first vows on July 18, 1998, and her final vows on July 16, 2005. Before joining the BVM community, she worked as a medical technologist at St. John's Mercy Medical Center in St. Sister Eileen was a beloved science teacher at Nerinx Hall High School in Webster Groves, Missouri, where she served for 15 years. Known for her big heart, laughter, and dedication to her students, she was also a congregational representative for the BVMs. Sister Eileen passed away on August 26, 2020, at Mercy One Medical Center in Dubuque, Iowa, at the age of 61. She is remembered fondly by her family, friends, and the BVM community.

Sister Dorothy (Irene Patricia) Gaffney, BVM, was a dedicated member of the Sisters of Charity, BVM, for 74 years. She professed her first vows on March 19, 1949, and her final vows on August 15, 1954. Sister Dorothy initially withdrew from the congregation in 1970 to care for her parents but reentered on September 23, 1985. Her career was marked by her commitment to education, serving as an elementary teacher and principal in Des Moines, Iowa, and as a school secretary, administrative assistant, and teacher in both elementary and secondary schools in Chicago. She also taught in Omaha, Nebraska, Butte, Montana, and San Francisco. Sister Dorothy passed away on November 10, 2020, at the age of 93, at Caritas Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Born on December 4, 1960, in Dubuque, she was the daughter of John “Jack” and Laverne (Mahoney) Anglin. Sister Lou entered the BVM congregation on July 16, 1985, from St. Patrick Parish in Epworth, Iowa. She professed her first vows on July 16, 1988, and her final vows on July 16, 1994. Throughout her life, Sister Lou served as a formation director and vice-president for the BVM congregation. Her ministry included roles as a religion teacher and campus minister at Nerinx High School in St. Louis, as well as an elementary teacher at DePorres Consolidated School, St. Bartholomew Elementary School in St. Louis, and St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Crestwood, Missouri. Before joining the congregation, she was a junior high teacher at St. Joseph School in New Hampton, Iowa. Sister Lou was known for her quiet, sincere, and compassionate nature, with a deep sensitivity and commitment to social justice. She was a beloved friend and mentor, remembered for her generosity, wisdom, and ability to form deep connections with others.
