Welcome to the Heritage & Research Center at Saint Mary’s Archives

HARC, the Heritage and Research Center at Saint Mary’s, is a collaborative effort by 10 congregations of women religious to preserve and share the rich history of their ministries. By collecting and preserving documents, artifacts, and other historical materials, HARC serves as a valuable resource for researchers, scholars, and the public to learn about the significant contributions of Catholic sisters to society.

HARC’s mission extends beyond historical preservation. In partnership with Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, Indiana, the center also aims to inspire future generations by highlighting the impact of Catholic sisters’ work in areas such as education, health care, and social justice. Through exhibits, programs, and research, HARC seeks to promote a deeper understanding of the legacy of Catholic sisters and encourage individuals and organizations to continue the work of religious sisters by seeing and addressing the needs of those who are marginalized or living in vulnerable situations.
