Sister Mary Imogene (Mary Imogene Zilafro) was born in East Prairie, Missouri, December 6, 1895, the daughter of Jesse Allen Zilafro and Helena Raidt. She entered the Congregation, June 28, 1922, from Charleston, Missouri. She received the Habit, January 6, 1923, and made Final Profession August 15, 1928. She died at Saint Mary's Convent, January 8, 1990, and is interred in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's, Notre Dame, Indiana.Sister Imogene was a teacher. She was assigned to teach at Saint Paul's School, Valparaiso, Indiana; Our Lady of Guadalupe School, Austin, Texas; Saint Columba's School, Cairo, Illinois; Saint Mary's School, Michigan City, Indiana; Saint Peter's School, LaPorte, Indiana; Saint Vincent's School, Logansport, Indiana; Saint John's School, Peoria, Illinois; Saint Patrick's School, Danville, Illinois and Holy Redeemer School, Flint, Michigan. Following her years of teaching she served by visiting nursing home residents in South Bend, Indiana.
