Mission, Service & Faith
As Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary we are women who have been touched by God’s steadfast love. In response to that love we are moved to commit ourselves to a vowed life of faithfulness to the Lord; faithfulness to one another in community; faithfulness to God’s people, especially the poor. This covenant relationship is a freeing one enabling us to risk responding to the pressing needs of our times according to our gifts and in keeping with our BVM mission.
Advocacy & Justice
The Sisters of Charity of the Blessed Virgin Mary have long embraced a mission rooted in peace, nonviolence, and care for those most vulnerable in society. Guided by the Gospel and a commitment to human dignity, the BVM Sisters advocate for the rights of women, children, immigrants, and those experiencing poverty or marginalization.
They advocate for justice, nonviolence, immigration reform, and human dignity, while opposing human trafficking and the death penalty.
