HARC Metadata Inventory Worksheet

Use this page to create item, file, or series-level description using HARC’s working metadata structure. The form supports workbook-style fields, controlled vocabulary suggestions, and CSV export for review, cleanup, import preparation, or sharing with project partners.

Project Information

Complete these fields before entering descriptive rows. They will be included at the top of the exported CSV.

Workflow note: This page is meant to help donors, interns, students, and staff describe material using consistent HARC fields. It does not replace archival review; it creates cleaner data for later reconciliation.

Metadata Entry Form

Use the accordion sections to draft one record, then click Add Form Entry to Table. You can also edit the table directly.

1. Basic Description
2. Dates, Extent, and Containers
3. Agents, Subjects, Restrictions, and HARC Context

Controlled List Suggestions from the Workbook

Search or browse HARC-style controlled values. Click terms to collect them, then send the selected terms into the Subjects field or append them to the active table cell.

Selected Terms
No terms selected yet.
Suggested from HARC workflow logic: If a record mentions mission work, schools, hospitals, formation, habits, profession, or community life, add both topical subjects and women religious genre terms. This keeps donor-created description closer to HARC’s standardized archival description model.

Editable Metadata Table

Edit cells directly or add rows from the form above.
